Surf Life Saving Association of Great Britain
Surf Life Saving originated in Australia in the early 1900s, when the growth of seaside towns and interest in swimming led to a number of drownings. Patrols were formed by local residents, living close by beaches with strong currents, alerting people to the dangers of the surf.

Bude Surfboat Club
Bude Surf Boat Club was officially formed in 2005 and has enjoyed a consistently high profile in the League, National and European events since then.BSBC regularly field 3 crews, two female - Bude Runners and Bude Flyers; and one male crew - Bude Barracudas.
The crews train off Summerleaze Beach at 6.30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the Summer and will gladly welcome anyone wanting to get involved.

Porthtowan Surf Life-Saving Club
Porthtowan Surf Life-Saving Club is based on the north coast of Cornwall, U.K. It lies between St. Ives and Newquay along with our neighboring clubs; St. Agnes and Portreath. Our headquarters are located at the western side of Porthtowan beach and accessed via Beach Road (Left after the Post Office). Although the club is active all year round, we operate our beach activities from Easter through till the end of September and Lifeguards are on duty 7 days a week during the Summer (May till September)

Llantwit Major Surf Life Saving Club
The club was established in 1963 following concerns over local incidents including drownings. The conditions in the Bristol channel can be treacherous, with a three knot current on the flowing tide, prevailing south westerly winds and the second largest tidal drop in the world.

Croker - Surf Oars
In the early 1960’s, Howard Croker began his apprenticeship in boat building. As Howard mastered the skills of his chosen trade, he recognized an untapped market for good quality crafted oars. An ex-school boy rower, Howard felt he knew how to design sleek curves and lines to make any vessel travel faster through the water. Upon completing his apprenticeship, Howard went with his instinct and established Croker Oars. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Perry Surfboats - Australia
NR Perry Surf Boats was established immediately after the 1996 Australian Championships. National titles that will be remembered by many for it's massive surf and conditions of epic proportions. Nathan Perry was inundated with requests from surfclubs all over the state of New South Wales to repair smashed up boats and oars damaged in such savage surf.

The Surf Life Saving Association of Wales
Surf Life Saving Association WALES is a not - for - profit Registered Charity organisation. Twenty-six voluntary lifeguard clubs currently affiliate to SLSA Wales from Jacksons Bay , Barry in the east to Aberystwyth in the west. Covering every Local Authority from the Vale of Glamorgan to Ceredigion. The majority of our lifesavers complete patrols on the weekend and in their own free time.
